M y husband has pancretitis. He wo not stop drinking. The docter is said that if he does not stop it they might have t remove it. What will happen afterwards if he gets it removed.

Well the pancreas is a gland organ in the digestive & endocrine system of vertebrates. It is both an endocrine gland (producing several important hormones, including insulin, glucagon, & somatostatin), as well as an exocrine gland (secreting pancreatic juice containing digestive enzymes) that pass to the small intestine. These enzymes help in the further breakdown of the carbohydrates, protein, & fat in the chyme.

If he does not stop drinking, possible diabetes could happen, due to the fact his body wo not produce any blood sugar. He wo not be able to digest carbs or proteins, so he will have a limited diet, & if he continues to drink after taken out he could die.

He will kill his liver. Possibly some other organs. Destroy thinking. Affect mood and irritability. Lots of stuff. And the worst: death.

Symptoms

But the pain is often severe & may become constant & last for several days. A person with acute pancreatitis usually looks & feels very ill & needs immediate medical attention. Other symptoms may include

a swollen & tender abdomen
nausea & vomiting
fever
a rapid pulse
Severe acute pancreatitis may cause dehydration & low blood pressure. The heart, lungs, or kidneys can fail. If bleeding occurs in the pancreas, shock & even death may follow.

He needs to quit drinking & heal. Then he can drink socialy. No binge drinking. My friend went thru this & was caused by drinking every day. Usually liquor.
