I am a 16 year old guy and I am trying to change my schedule around.
I'd like to start waking up at 6:00 am but am unsure how many hours I am supposed to sleep. What time, for instance, should l hit the sack?
Essentially, how many hours of rest do l need?

They say 7 hours a night.

It differs for each person depending on physically fit they are. However, for an average person it is about 5-6 hours.

i'd say about eight (8) hours. that will make you feel very refreshed...
and will make you stay awake at school---go to bed about 10pm or so! not after 11 (EST is what l am on [eastern standard time] is what time ozne i'm in. so just use that hr difference thing)

Medical professionals have long said that 8 hours of sleep is the magic number. So make sure that u r in bed at least 8 hours before u need to wake up.

However, u can sleep for 8 hours & not get ''restful'' sleep. Remember, REM sleep is the most important sleep because this is the deep sleep when the body is truly relaxed & being recharged.

Lately l have not been getting this kind of sleep so l need to stay up late JUST to stay sleep in order to be able to function throughout the day. It is very important that u get restful sleep.
