My boyfriend turned 20 in July.He had a really bad problem of wetting the bed l think until he was about 14 or 15 and its pretty much gone but he still wets the bed on occasion, maybe once every 6 months, he has done this l think 4 times in the last yearSurprisingly though he wet the bed two nights ago pretty badly after having just done this two weeks earlier.l am kind of worried about him.l think he is embarassed by it but l do not think he should be, to me it is just like any other medical condition.l am worried and want him to see a doctor but he does not have insurance.Should l leave it alone and not be worried about it?l do not know if this problem should ever go away?l ask because l am really convinced he has sleep apnea and think it could be related.l did not really care about him having sleep apnea but he got in a wreck about a year ago because he fell asleep while driving and very nearely escaped death.l think all of these things could be related.He is Asian (higher rates of sleep apnea), has horrible snoring, just like someone with sleep apnea, l know the sound distinctly because everyone in my family has sleep apnea

anyway what do l do to make him less embarassed about this so that he might try and look to find the medical cause of his bed wetting?l am just convinced it should have been gone by now.l also do not know how to make him not feel bad about it, he always apologizes and it really does not bother me or anything, it just worried me about his health

That is obviously not normal.. but l am sure l did not need to explain that to you.

He should be seeing a doctor to find out why this is happening. In the mean time, he should ''try'' to prevent it, like emptying his bladder before he goes to bed, not drinking diuretics (caffeine, lemon juice, alcohol) for several hours before his normal bed time.

well, you say he only does it once every 6 months. and it isnt bothering him. so l think there really isnt alot to be worried about.
its not life threatening?
dont say ''wet the bed'' that might make it seem childish, and thats why he is embarressed.
say ''while you sleep'' or ''at night''

guys usually ''wet the bed'' when they do not ''tug at the dragon'' enough.if you know what l mean

l found a lot of articles when l googled ''adult enuresis'' (that is the medical name for bed wetting). Several mentioned that it may be linked to urinary tract infections, sleep disorders, and/or genetics.

If u can ward off apnea episodes, he may not sleep so deeply that his brain does not receive the full-bladder message. Often, creating a discomfort when attempting to sleep on the back (a tennis ball in a temporary pocket) can retrain a back sleeper suffering sleep apnea not to lie on his back.

He can also try setting alarms to use the bathroom at the midpoint of his night; restricting liquids after dinner; limiting or stopping alcohol; purchasing a wet-bed alarm, etc.

to the above l think she means wet the bed as in urinating in pants during the night not having a ''wet dream''.definitely go check out a doctor though even here in canada we have health coverage but l would probably be kind of embarass to see a doctor but eventually l would get over it and go
